Essences are rare drops from progression zones and Tower of Frozen Shadow.

They are used to craft the following items:

• Ultimate Weapon
• Shield of the Ages
• Strike Augments
• Mana Necklace
• Spell: Defensive Boon

Because of their rareness and usefulness, they are commonly sold to other players from values ranging from 150,000 platinum each to well over a million platinum each.

Old Commons

Dropped By: any boss or accessory chest in Old Commons. 1 essence guaranteed from Hill Giant

Frozen Shadow

There are 8 different levels of this essence: 1-7, and "master essence", which can be used as substitute for any of the previous levels.
Dropped By: key bosses in the 7 levels of Tower of Frozen Shadow. Master Essence is dropped by Advisor Svartmane in Level 7 of Tower of Frozen Shadow
